The LiveGear Receiver Unit (LGR) is a playout device that receives AirStream or AirCam IP transmissions via the internet and provides an HD/SD-SDI output. Up to six AirStream or AirCam transmitters are simultaneously received using one LGR receiver.
The LGR-1000 is a cost effective means to receive "live" remote Internet News Gathering (iNG) content and requires nothing more than an internet connection. There are no expensive receive site infrastructures to support as with traditional electronic news gathering (ENG) systems.
The LiveGear receiver is typically installed at a broadcast studio or technical operations center. Up to six bonded cellular network IP streams carrying a packetised segment of the video transmission are received from each remote AirStream or AirCam transmitters. The bonded IP packets are aggregated to produce a single reconstructed IP stream containing the original HD video transmission.
The IP transport stream is decoded to either HD/SD-SDI or passed through as IP to the studio server for distribution to customer edge devices such as smartphones, tablets, or PCs. Up to five additional video transport streams can be enabled in the LGR-1000 receiver to decode simultaneous HD/SD-SDI outputs.
The receiver also provides a duplex Interruptible Feedback (IFB) channel for monitoring and operator cueing of remote AirStream or AirCam transmitters. System configuration of the receiver and AirStream or AirCam transmitters are controlled by an integrated web browser GUI interface. The LGR-1000 is a product of the LiveGear family of Vislink technology.
